South Simcoe Police Service responded to 86 calls for service, pro-active traffic stops and community service events

The following news release was issued today by South Simcoe Police:

On Tuesday, April 17, South Simcoe Police Service received numerous reports of cars being entered and property stolen in Bradford. The thefts took place in the evening hours between Monday night and Tuesday morning. These incidents occurred in the Simcoe Road and Walker Avenue area. In each of the incidents, the vehicle was left in the laneway of a residence and the doors were not locked.

Locking your vehicle at night in your own driveway is as important as locking your car in a busy parking lot or commuter lot. Thieves will take advantage of any opportunity afforded them, so locking your car doors will eliminate the opportunity. Keeping valuables out of sight will discourage thieves from damaging a vehicle to make entry.

The Lock-it-or-Lose It message from police applies in all locations.
