NEWS RELEASE

BRADFORD - On Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 a Bradford woman called South Simcoe Police to report a fraud. She had been contacted by a collection agency after an unknown suspect had used her Social Insurance number to obtain a cell phone.

She was called to pay the $2500 outstanding bill. The woman reports that she had her wallet stolen from a parked car last year in Toronto, and that is where she believes the suspect obtained her information.

While the woman is not out any money, she has to face the inconvenience of dealing with identity fraud.

Again, we remind all to take purses and wallets with them when parking their cars. #LockItOrLoseIt
