Woman facing various charges after vehicle break in

On Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 4 a.m. police received a call from a resident in the area of Prince William Way and Big Bay Point Road, in the City of Barrie, in regards to a female and male observed rummaging around in a vehicle parked in a driveway.

Police arrived in the area and located a female matching the description running from Prince William Way. A short foot pursuit ensued, but the female could not make it over a residential fence and was taken into custody. 

The 29-year-old Barrie female was charged with Theft Under $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Trespassing at Night.

The female was held for a bail hearing as she had recently been released on charges for similar offences. The identity of the male is currently unknown to police. 

Police would like to remind residents to always lock their vehicles and refrain from keeping valuables inside, despite the time of day or season.
