Since I retired to Meaford I am very interested in local news and such.
Again! Ford helps people that do not need the tax savings. It is nice but it is people that cannot afford a car that need the break!

An unnecessary election.
Ontario has little power against our southern dictator so we nee an all party team Canada. Ford?...time teach him a lesson! He has no chance for my vote because of this snap election!

With this latest Ford act, the time has come to vote against ego, corporatization of politics and corruption of designated Green spaces. The Green Party gets my vote to clean-up this act!

Ms McIntyre makes a good point! People who can afford an automobile have no problem paying licence fees. It makes no sense for the government to lose this source of income. People that cannot afford a personal transportation vehicle are the ones that need financial help: Mr. Ford and company need to correct their priorities if they want my vote!

As far as banning tobacco.
We are in a free society! To block tobacco sales will not stop the demand for these products. Education will!
This is similar to the oil industry which in their time was great but now due to circumstances is causing global catastrophe! Can we just have governments legislate to reduce fossil fuels use? Of course not: our society needs to reduce demand! There is no other way and again education! With Big Oil good luck

Just a note re using pesticides to kill plants. My understanding is pesticides are for insects and other "animal" pests. "Herbicides" are for use to control and kill plants.

Only the Green Party candidate firmly stated their position. Even without the environmental studies this project has some rarely discussed faults that make the project an absurd option.
The COST of this is project is not $4 Billion. TCE estimate up to $6 Billion. This project could EASILY hit $10 Billion! Our Provincial government is currently handing out $265 Million to TCE but to finish the project another $7 - $10 Billion IF it ever gets finished.
We will need energy storage. BUT:
The efficiency of this Pumped Storage including transmission lines will be 67% not 75%.
A modern alternative to Pumped Storage would be modern battery storage which would be ready to go in 2 to 3 years, built at 1/3 of the cost, be 90% efficient (way less wasted energy) and can be constructed right next to the Barrie transfer station: NOT on our Niagara escarpment Green spaces.
One last point: where was the bidding process for this energy storage project as required by law? There was none!
