Yes, this is a huge concern. The money is there but not being given to the public health care system. If he can show the system is broken (while not admitting he is assisting) then there is cause to privatize. There is no question our system needs an overhaul, but privatization is a very scary option for those of us who are everyday people. These gallbladder surgeries that you all speak of could break a mid income family. You should all check how much your different health issues have actually cost while you pay nothing on OHIP. My cousin lives in the states and having a stent put in, with one overnight cost almost $350,000. You all mention an overnight with surgery so the costs would be similar. You need to think about that seriously as Ford is working hard to get us to the same system. Support the Ontario Health Coalition who are working hard to stop him. https://www.ontariohealthcoalition.ca

Unless something has changed recently, you don't have to give up your doctor to register with Health Care Connect. You do 'de roster' from the one you are going to give up, but that doctor is responsible for caring for you until you are connected to one in your new area. Her story doesn't mention if she ever registered with HCC.

Welfare and ODSP are two differerent entities. For those on ODSP you can ask that the rent goes straight to the landlord, but if the tenant then changes his mind after getting into the rental, the money then reverts to them. Beware.

I'm sure the tenants have been ordered to pay back rent and damages, it is the getting it that will be an issue. And the LTB does not enforce that from what I understand, it must be taken to small claims court.

Well I thought I was getting involved by taking a stand.

I'm hoping that these tariffs really open up Canadian products across the country. I had no idea there were so many barriers before these tariff threats came in. Certainly an education. I have some favorite BC wines looking forward to seeing on our shelves.

Well where did she do this? I don't know anyone in Orillia who received a knock on their door.

Certainly it needs to do something. Door to door delivery is a bit out of date. Central boxes like in the new subdivisions could be established in all neighbourhoods.

Now this makes a lot of sense. I had never heard of these bonds before. Have asked my bank to look into. Would like to see what the success rate of these homes have been; would not like to invest in something to have it turn sour like up on West St. Need a safety net to avoid those situations and allow those living in the complexes to feel safe. They have obviously been through enough. Can we use this model to get the rent geared to income units above the post office started?
