BarrieToday welcomes letters to the editor at [email protected] or via the website. Please include your full name, daytime phone number and address (for verification of authorship, not publication). The following letter is in response to a story titled 'Police asking for help finding pickup stolen in south-end Barrie,' published Nov. 14.
There is not much point in local folks keeping an eye out for stolen vehicles, especially those that are most likely already in a container ready to head overseas.
By the time the police show up, these vehicles are almost to ports such as Montreal and getting packed for a long ride.
Sorry, but those of us who work tirelessly to afford nice things are the targets of people who really don't intend to ever put in an honest hard days work.
Me? I will keep working as hard as I can and provide for my family. Hopefully no one comes after my seven- and eight-year-old vehicles.
I am sorry for the loss for the owners, I truly am, but the fact the police think it is still in the area is more saddening than anything else.
