ALLISTON — Contemporary impressionist artist Susan Hunter Guise is thrilled to announce the opening of her solo exhibition, From Field to Canvas, at the Adjala-Tosorontio Municipal Centre in Alliston. The exhibition will run from Oct. 24, 2024 to Jan. 24, 2025.

Hunter Guise's latest collection showcases a stunning array of works inspired by her plein air painting experiences. Known for her vibrant colours and expressive brushwork, Hunter Guise has created some of her most captivating pieces to date for this exhibition.

"I'm incredibly excited to share this collection with the community," said Susan. "Plein air painting has been a transformative experience for me, allowing me to capture the beauty and essence of the natural world in a truly authentic way.”

Hunter Guise's artistic journey began in 2011 when she started working with oils under the guidance of local plein air artists. In 2018, she sought further training and attended numerous intensive online art conferences, which have significantly contributed to her artistic development.

Her work has been featured in exhibitions at Double Door Gallery and Studio in Anten Mills, the Simcoe County Museum, Barrie Art Club, and the rotunda and small gallery at Barrie's City Hall. Additionally, Hunter Guise's pieces are currently on display at FortyOne: Local Art Market in Alliston.

When not immersed in her artistic pursuits, Hunter Guise can often be found plein air painting with colleagues around Kempenfelt Bay. She has also shared her knowledge and expertise by giving talks on plein air gear and developing pastel workshops for the Barrie Art Club.
