Near North Custom Brokers In., a Barrie-based customs broker, is supporting the Paralympic Foundation of Canada through its Circle of Champions program.

Members of the Circle of Champions  make a four-year financial commitment to help make a profound impact on the parasport system in Canada.

The Paralympic Foundation of Canada is the new philanthropic arm of the Canadian Paralympic Committee.

It was established to ensure the programs, equipment and people are in place to propel more Canadians with a disability from the playground all the way to the Paralympic podium.

The Circle of Champions program raises funds to ensure that Canadian Paralympic athletes have access to the best coaching, training environments, equipment and sport science.

"The Circle of Champions is a terrific program which creates a clear path to Paralympic success," said Dave Jupp, vice president sales, Near North Customs.

"We are thrilled to be a part of it and to help Paralympic athletes and Paralympic hopefuls achieve their highest goals."

The Paralympic Foundation of Canada emphasizes that coaching is at the heart of athletic performance and the development of future champions.

Funding raised through The Circle of Champions enables access to daily training environments in which athletes train together under the supervision of a world class coach.

With funding for innovation and equipment, the Paralympic Foundation of Canada can collaborate with sport and performance partners on research projects to find ways to improve the performance of athletes on their path to podium successes.

"A key focus of our business at Near North Customs, is to ensure goods progress unencumbered to their final destination," said Jupp.

"It seemed natural for us to support a cause that helps Paralympic athletes progress all the way to their rightful destination too -- the Paralympic podium.

"We hope more Canadians become aware of Paralympic sport and we look forward to seeing more great Canadian athletes at their best and delivering peak performances in the future."
