Welcome to 2016 and a new year is often a time for reflection.
People resolve to make the new year better either through a work-related or personal change or intention.
We reached out to community leaders, familiar faces and Barrie residents to share their New Year's resolutions.
As part of our series, we asked Samantha Hoffmann, Barrie Public Fire and Life Safety Officer, to share her resolution for 2016:
"For work, as a department we are going to practice what we preach. We have challenged everyone in BFES to test their alarms, make a plan and practice it. On a personal level, I'm going to try to slow down, allow myself some down time and try to let go."
