Barrie resident charged during break-and-enter in progress: OPP

Provincial police say they arrested two suspects, including a Barrie resident, who were allegedly found breaking into a vacant home Saturday in Midland.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP say they were alerted to a break-and-enter in progress at an unoccupied residence on Fifth Street.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 12, police say officers observed two people exit the residence and made arrests.

Further investigation resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected fentanyl, police stated in a news release.

Blair Edward Clare, 32, of no fixed address, Midland, was charged with break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Kayla Lecamp, 36, of Barrie is charged with break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence; possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid (other than heroin); and failure to comply with a probation order.

The accused were released to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 28.

None of the allegations have been tested in court.
