THORNBURY — Provincial police have confirmed a cyclist died last night following a collision on Highway 26 in Thornbury just after 7 p.m.
Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP, as well as Grey County Paramedics, responded to a call for a serious collision between a cyclist and a vehicle on Highway 26 between the Tenth Line and Eleventh Line on Jan. 9.
Police confirmed early this morning (Jan. 10) the 59-year-old cyclist died as a result of the collision.
The highway was closed for several hours between the Tenth and Eleventh lines while police and collision reconstruction team conducted an investigation.
The driver of the vehicle has been co-operative with police, states a news release from the OPP.
The investigation is ongoing.
