Police say a white 2021 MT100 Bobcat Minitrack Loader was stolen from the road in front of a home located on Monarchy Crescent between 4:35 a.m. and 5:02 a.m. on Friday by a black sport-utility vehicle towing a double axle flatbed trailer.

City police are investigating after a piece of construction machinery was stolen from a south-end residential building site early this morning.

On Friday, just after 7 a.m., officers responded to a report of an overnight theft from the job site in southeast Barrie, according to police.

Police say a white 2021 MT100 Bobcat Minitrack Loader was stolen from the road in front of a home located on Monarchy Crescent.

The loader was equipped with a large bucket on the front which  had “HR” painted on it.

Police were able to determine from video surveillance in the area that the theft occurred between 4:35 a.m. and 5:02 a.m., and that a black sport-utility vehicle towing a double axle flatbed trailer was involved.

Police said a canvass of the immediate area has been conducted, and they will be revisiting the area to determine if additional video surveillance footage is available to assist with this ongoing investigation.

The Barrie Police Service is reminding business owners who use any type of equipment in home-related or industrial construction projects to always ensure that any equipment being left overnight is secured in a manner so that it cannot be stolen.

Anyone with information on this theft is asked to please contact the investigating officer, Const. Andrew Dunkley, by email at [email protected].
