Charges against Orillia man include robbery with violence

A man has been charged following a bank robbery Monday in Orillia.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m., police responded to a robbery in progress at the TD Bank on Monarch Drive. The suspect demanded money and was given cash with a decoy package that caused red dye to go off, Orillia OPP said in a news release.

Lucus Campbell, 30, of Orillia, has been charged with robbery with violence, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, using a firearm while committing an offence, and two counts of failure to comply with a probation order. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
