OPP investigating possible arson at residence under construction

Provincial police are investigating a fire at a residence under construction in Adjala-Tosorontio Township as a possible arson.

On Sunday, Sept. 29 just after 2:30 a.m., Nottawasaga OPP officers were called to the fire on Marigold Boulevard in a new subdivision.

The location is in the area of County Road 14 and Concession Road 8.

Nottawasaga OPP and crews from the Adjala-Tosorontio Fire Department attended the scene and were able to safely extinguish the fire.

"The residence appeared to be under construction before the fire took place and no injuries have been reported at this time," police stated in a news release.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to police.

The OPP are actively investigating the incident and seeking the public's assistance. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 1-800-310-1122.

Additionally, drivers who were in the area between 11 p.m. on Sept. 28 and 3 a.m. on Sept. 29 and may have dash-cam or video footage can also contact investigators.
