Nearly two years after a carjacking in Innisfil, police have arrested a second suspect.
On May 16, 2022, at about 12:10 p.m., a man with a knife approached a 77-year-old Barrie woman, grabbed her keys, pushed her to the ground and took off in her vehicle at the Tim Hortons on Commerce Park Drive.
The victim suffered minor injuries, South Simcoe police said in a news release.
In August 2023, arrest warrants were issued for two men on charges including robbery, assault with a weapon, and motor vehicle theft.
On Sept. 19, 2023, Navjot Singh, 25, of Brampton, was arrested and charged.
On Friday, the second suspect, 25-year-old Arshdeep Gill, of Hamilton, was arrested in Peel Region. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
None of the allegations have been tested in court.
