One of two suspects wanted in connection to a May 2022 carjacking in Innisfil involving a Barrie senior has been arrested.
In August 2023, South Simcoe police issued warrants for two male suspects on multiple charges, including robbery, assault with a weapon and motor vehicle theft.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged Navjot Singh, 25, of Brampton, on Monday, Sept. 19, 2023. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
Arshdeep Gill, 25, of no fixed address, is still being sought.
Shortly after noon on Monday, May 16, 2022, police say a 77-year-old Barrie woman was "approached by a male suspect armed with a knife who grabbed her keys, pushed her to the ground and fled the scene in her vehicle at the Tim Hortons located on Commerce Park Drive," according to a news release.
Police say the victim sustained minor injuries as result of the incident.
Anyone with information about Gill's whereabouts is asked to contact Det. Const. Dan Raymond by phone at 705-436-2141, ext. 1027, by email at [email protected], or contact Crime Stoppers.
