Tip from the public helps OPP officers nab impaired driver

A tip from the public helped Orillia OPP officers nab an alleged impaired driver in Severn Township on Tuesday night.

According to a media release from the Orillia OPP, officers "were alerted by the public to a vehicle displaying signs of erratic driving on Osprey Lane in the Township of Severn."

Police on patrol were able to locate the vehicle at about 11:30 p.m.

Rebekah Morton, 36, of Oro-Medonte Township, has been charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired, operation while impaired (80 plus) and driving a vehicle with liquor readily available.

None of the allegations have been tested in court.
