The Unites States Coast Guard (USCG) cutter Katmai Bay entered Midland Bay in the mid-morning of Tuesday, Dec. 29 and has commenced ice-breaking activities in the Midland Bay area.

The Canadian Steam Ship Line (CSL) motor vessel Frontenac, which arrived in Midland Bay on the afternoon of Dec. 28, is expected to depart the ADM grain dock in Midland Bay in the morning of Dec. 30.

It is also expected that the CSL motor vessel Baie Comeau will be re-entering Midland Bay for winter layup on or about Jan. 8, 2021.

An updated media release of the CSL Baie Comeau's arrival along with accompanying ice breaking activity information will be provided when available.

These arrival and departure dates are subject to change should weather or mechanical issues arise. All ice surface users should stay well clear of any vessel activity and their tracks through the ice as ice conditions are extremely unsafe in those areas. Remember # No Ice is Safe Ice.
