The Caledon detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is proud to announce and welcome its new detachment commander, Insp. Natalie Majer.

Insp. Majer brings an impressive 30-year career that began in 1994 at the Burk's Falls detachment. Since then, she has served in numerous front-line detachments, including Nottawasaga, Highway Safety Division, Southern Georgian Bay and Collingwood/Town of Blue Mountains.

Her experience extends beyond front-line operations, including leadership roles in the Communications and Technology Services Bureau and the Field Support Bureau.

Most recently, she held the role of interim detachment commander at Haliburton Highlands.

A passionate advocate for mentorship and inclusivity, Insp. Majer serves as a mentor with the Ontario Public Service (OPS) Diversity and Career Champion Program, supporting underrepresented members in their career growth and development.

As a former board member of the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement (OWLE) and member of the International Association of Women Police (IAWP), she has championed initiatives that promote equity and empower women in policing.

Insp. Majer's commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace extends to her involvement with the OPP Central Region Steering Committee for Women Igniting Change (WIC) Member Support Network, a group focused on driving positive change and gender equity within the organization.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of OPP Women in Uniform, a milestone that highlights the significant contributions and progress made by women in the OPP. Insp. Majer, as a member of the 50th OPP Anniversary of Women in Uniform Steering Committee, is committed to celebrating this historic achievement.

Her leadership and dedication reflect the values of inclusivity and equity that continue to shape the future of policing, as the OPP recognizes the accomplishments of its women veterans and current members, while empowering the next generation through recruitment and mentorship.

In addition to her professional achievements, Insp. Majer has demonstrated leadership in the broader community through her work on charity campaigns within the OPS, including her roles with United Way and Federated Health Charities. She is a recipient of the prestigious Police Exemplary Service Medal, recognizing her dedication and contributions over three decades of public service.

A graduate of Brock University with a bachelor of arts degree, she has been an active member in various community groups, including the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation Campaign Cabinet.

"Insp. Majer is an accomplished police professional with 30 years of service in multiple OPP detachments and divisions, with a broad experience in highway safety, communications and technology, and central operations that will help Caledon as we continue to grow," said Mayor Annette Groves. "Our town is in good hands with Insp. Majer as our new detachment commander."
