Two charged after assault, theft of e-bike in downtown Orillia

Two Orillians are facing multiple charges after a downtown robbery on Sunday.

Orillia OPP say a man with a knife assaulted a person in a parking lot in downtown Orillia at 6 a.m. on Nov. 17 and stole his e-bike.

After canvassing the area, officers were able to identify the suspects. Just after 2 p.m., officers were able to arrest the duo.

Amanda Hustler, 37, of Orillia was charged with robbery with a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Christopher Draper, 40, also of Orillia, has been charged with robbery with a weapon, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, failure to comply with release order, failure to comply with a probation order, uttering threats (cause bodily harm) and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.

Both parties were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

None of the allegations have been tested in court.
