A Barrie police officer and a canine search volunteer walk back to a meeting point during a search for clues on Wednesday in the case of a Barrie woman, Autumn Shaganash, missing since June 2023.

City police announced today that a three-day search of Sunnidale Park has begun, in an effort to try to locate a Barrie woman missing since June 2023.

Officers are on-site with ISN Maskwa, an Indigenous-led organization, which has been brought in to assist with the search for 26-year-old Autumn Shaganash, who was last seen near the park before she vanished on June 10, 2023.

Volunteers could be seen in the park with search dogs on Wednesday looking for clues.

“We are very grateful for ISN Maskwa and everyone who came to search in Sunnidale Park. That is what we need,” Lili-Anne Moore, the sister of Shaganash, told BarrieToday at the park this morning.

The search is scheduled to resume tomorrow with more volunteers assisting.
